Perioperative Services
At the North Shore-LIJ Health System, our team of Perioperative Nurses are involved in everything from the perioperative care of surgical patients to preadmission testing to post anesthesia recovery. Working both autonomously and as part of a cohesive, multi-disciplinary team, the Perioperative Nurse receives extensive orientation and specialty training, works with the latest instrumentation and has every opportunity to continually learn, develop and advance.
Our Perioperative Nurses leverage a high degree of competency and knowledge of anatomy and surgical technique and both scrub and circulate during laparoscopic and invasive procedures, including cardiothoracic/vascular, stereotactic neurosurgery, renal transplant and orthopedic surgery.
