Finance Director, Regional Claims Recovery
I’ve been a North Shore-LIJ team member for 17 years. I began my career here as a Medical Biller in 1994, and have grown over the years to my present role as Finance Director. As an extension of the business office, Regional Claims Recovery Service is responsible for Customer Service, as well as the Financial Assistance Program. Our office helps transform care by assisting patients with every facet involved in the billing process.
I’m a member of the Website Redevelopment team – a team that has earned the 2011 President’s Award for Innovation – and I believe we have made North Shore-LIJ’s Financial Help website a more friendly, professional and positive experience for our patients, while providing transparency and convenience to our users. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with our team, and I am proud of the contributions we have made to the health system’s success.
North Shore-LIJ has provided many opportunities for professional and personal growth that I don’t believe I would have received anywhere else. Through the health system’s Tuition Reimbursement Program, I have successfully completed a Bachelor’s Program at St. Joseph’s College. I’ve also attended several courses at our Center for Learning and Innovation. I consider myself very fortunate to work at North Shore-LIJ – an employer who cares about its employees.
Being a financial professional at the largest healthcare provider in the region brings unique challenges and opportunities. Our customers are the numerous diverse departments throughout the health system, and we provide them with core support and guidance for a broad range of financial operations and business practices.
Our multi-disciplinary team is collaborative and supportive, working together in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and timeliness in everything we do. Whether in accounts payable, cash operations, general accounting or payroll services, our team shares a pride in knowing that we impact every area of the health system, ensuring that it is operating efficiently and effectively with the resources available.
Much like the rest of North Shore-LIJ, technology and innovation drive our efforts in the Finance department. In fact, we recently received a Silver Award in eHealthcare Leadership for our work on The Health System’s Financial Help website.
