You will perform internal compliance audits in response to the annual Compliance Work Plan. You will develop and conduct related educational sessions in response to identified compliance issues, and maintain and promote compliance coding standards. Responsibilities include: Develops and implements audits in accordance with Corporate Compliance Work Plan. Coordinates and performs internal compliance audits to maintain consistency in compliance measurements and corporate policy and procedures.Develops audit tools to effectively capture and disseminate data.Analyzes the results of compliance audits and self-assessments, summarizes findings and provides detailed reports.Investigates and responds to inquiries regarding documentation and coding issues. Oversees the development and implementation of education and training programs to support coding compliance. Develops compliance training materials and performs ongoing compliance education in response to internal compliance audits and specialized training requests. Provides general and/or focused educational sessions to physicians and other staff on documentation, coding and billing.Participates in investigations into potential areas of coding non-compliance and performs specialized audits as needed.Provides and promotes system-wide Compliance coding standards. Qualifications:Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field, required. Bachelors Degree, preferred.Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician ( CCS-P) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification, required. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), preferred.Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience with International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM), Current Procedural Terminology-4 (CPT-4) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), required. Microsoft Office proficient.
