Description:

As the Director of Engineering and Maintenance you will direct, plan and evaluate the department's operations and staff relating to the facilities and grounds. You will also perform preventive maintenance, inspections and schedule priorities for alterations and construction to optimize Maintenance and Engineering operations. Additionally you will review and approve purchase requests and proposals from outside contractors, adhere to department goals, policies and procedures, Joint Commission and other regulatory agency requirements.


Responsibilities include:

• Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives and procedures; and reports operational performance, justification and any corrective action.
• Develops and prepares capital improvements, recurrent expenses, salary budgets and revenue projections. Monitors expenditures to ensure operations are within budget parameters.
• Coordinates and controls scheduling and assignment of responsibilities to ensure an equitable distribution of work.
  
  • Reviews and coordinates work priorities to maximize productivity.
  • Prepares and reviews specifications, estimates, drawings, etc. required to facilitate repairs and alteration requests.
  
  
• Hires, trains, disciplines and supervises staff. Evaluates performance and ensures appraisals are completed on a timely basis.
• Builds and maintains inter/intra departmental and vendor work relationships to optimize operations.
  
  • Collaborates and consults with management, contractors and vendors regarding building and utility requirements, preventive and corrective maintenance, the extent of alterations, repairs and additions, as necessary.
  • Ensures all necessary permits, licenses and insurance are valid.
  
  
• Oversees compliance with government and agency regulations
• Monitors the installation and repair of various building utilities in accordance with safety and fire regulations. Ensures work meets inspection standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business or related field, required.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible Maintenance and Engineering work, required. Supervisory experience, required.
• Maintains current knowledge of methods, equipment, and trends.
