IT Disaster Recovery Architect

Description:

As an Information Technology Disaster Recovery Architect, you will design, develop and coordinate the implementation of technical design strategies, reference architectures and sourcing models for providing North Shore LIJ Health System with high availability/business continuity and disaster recovery services.


Responsibilities include:

• Designs, develops and coordinates disaster recovery and high availability strategies, supporting technology reference architectures and program deployment methodologies.
• Provides subject matter expertise in the development, design, implementation and testing of disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborates with infrastructure and application architects to define solution requirements for recovery environments.
• Develops reusable disaster recovery collateral, standards and best practices. Evaluates new technologies and capabilities and makes recommendations.
• Participates in disaster recovery planning assessments, program and strategy development, deployment and fail-over testing activities.
• Develops and maintains disaster recovery guidelines, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, measurement, monitoring and reporting criteria.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field, required. Master's Degree, preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years architectural environment experience including three (3) in planning and implementation of disaster recovery solutions.
• Proficient in infrastructure technology areas including: server hardware, operating systems, networking, storage, virtualization, automation and cloud architecture.
• Hands-on experience in three (3) or more of the following technologies, required:

• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and project management skills, required.
• Strong team building, collaboration and communication skills, required.
