Lab Technologist (GC)- Blood Bank

Description:

Glen Cove Hospital is a 265 bed hospital and is home to the Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Institute, which is internationally known with the state of the art programs in joint replacement and an all inclusive spine program. The Wunsch Center for Rehabilitative Therapies is among the top rated facilities in the New York metropolitan area. The hospital also offers a 44 bed Geriatric Unit treating older adults with a full spectrum of health problems.

In this role the Lab Technologist will be responsible for:

• The performance of clinical laboratory procedures, examinations and other tests pursuant to established protocols.
• The maintenance of equipment and records
• Conducting quality assurance activities related to examination performance practices and procedures that require independent judgment and responsibility

Qualifications:

In order to qualify and be considered for this position, possession of a New York State Education Department (NYSED) license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist IS REQUIRED.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year work experience and/or training specific to the work being done in the area noted above is required
