Description:

The mission of our Optimization Specialist-AEHR (Ambulatory Electronic Health Record) is to collaborate with AEHR staff, physician practices and departments in supporting post-implementation of AEHR systems. You must ensure adoption of essential operational and business functions (i.e. registration, billing, insurance, reporting, etc) within the AEHR at all practices and acts as point of contact for product improvement, changes and best practices. It is essential that you demonstrate as well as encourage positive and efficient communication in order to provide a more pleasant and safe environment.


Responsibilities include:
1. Collaborates with practice management in assessing end-users levels of AEHR system adoption, use and understanding of the application.
· Assists in the identification of reports to establish metrics which measure system use.
· Identifies knowledge and skill gaps of end-users, prioritizes skill gaps and creates action plans to ensure full adoption and understanding of system.
· Establishes progress plans for users.
2. Collaborates with Practice super-users and sets-up forums to share best practices.
· Collaborates with pool of super-users to assist in future implementations and system adoption.
3. Assists Practice management in attaining best practice workflows. Modifies as necessary to ensure best result for the practice specialty.
· Communicates with implementation team regarding changes to workflow.
4. Works with Practice end users to identify opportunities to improve the product, enhance applicability and efficiency. Compiles, forwards and establishes communication process for the Practices(s) and team regarding issues, enhancement requests, additional content requests and interface and integration requests.
5. Works closely with Practices to manage software alerts ensuring implementation of any modified workflows, work-arounds and/or changes to current processes.
6. Identifies needs of users and collaborates with Educators, EMR Project Managers and Clinical specialists to develop educational programs and curriculum focused on optimizing AEHR use.
7. Participates as a member of the NSLIJ "Meaningful Use" workgroup as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field, required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Information Technology experience, including ability to communicate technical information, and experience with implementing a point-of-contact ambulatory clinical information systems, required.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation and analysis tools (Microsoft Access and Excel), preferred.
  • Knowledge with web applications and development tools, preferred.
  • Allscripts experience highly desired
