Return to search results or previous page My Job Cart | Sign In Save to My Job Cart Send to a Friend Print This Page APPLY NOW Physician Assistant- ICU Requisition ID: LEN0000RR Location: Lenox Hill Hospital Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day Job Description:The mission of the Physician Assistant is to provide patient care in our Surgery Department in order to ensure the patient's health and well being while interacting with all levels of the health care team.Responsibilities include:Evaluation of patient- Initially approaches a patient of any age group in any setting to elicit a detailed and accurate history, performs an appropriate physical examination, delineates problems and records and presents the data.Monitoring patient - Assist the physician in conducting rounds in acute and long term inpatient settings. Provides care in outpatient settings. Develops and implements patient management plans and records progress notes.Therapeutics - Performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care. Manages simple conditions. Assists physician with therapeutic interventions and provides primary and secondary assistance with surgical procedures.Diagnostics - Orders and/or interprets, at least to the point of recognizing deviations from the norm, common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic, and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes.Counseling - Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic interventions and provides primary and secondary assistance with surgical procedures. Referral - facilitates the referral of patients to other health related practitioners, and community health and social service agencies when appropriateEmergency intervention - Responds in an appropriate manner in urgent and emergent situations by performing CPR, intubating the patient, drawing blood, inserting IV, artificial respiration, etc Qualifications:Bachelors Degree.
