Description:
Manages and coordinates the implementation of information system initiatives to meet the needs of Faculty Practice Plan. Manages and assures IDX Systems initiatives are being met. Serves as a liaison between the department and vendors and conducts in-services, as necessary. Collaborates, regularly, with key FPP management, information technology and clinical department staff.
1. Creates project work plans outlining scope, milestones and implementation risks.
2. Communicates with user departments and project teams regarding implementation activities and system changes to ensure feasibility.
3. Develops system specifications to appropriately meet department requirements.
4. Develops and implements appropriate controls to ensure data integrity and interface effectiveness.
5. Assesses IDX System for constant improvement and enhancement. Incorporates financial regulatory requirements.
6. Evaluates information technology to promote operational efficiency and financial reimbursement.
7. Coordinates and maintains communication between the Faculty Practice Plan, hospital, vendor(s) and payor(s) regarding system applications and initiatives.
8. Reviews all contractual obligations and works to ensure status of deliverables. Resolves all problems relating to system with vendor(s) and payor(s).
9. Works with Perot Systems and other health systems representatives to ensure smooth and accurate Interfaces.
10. Performs periodic post-installation reviews of all system initiatives. Identifies system or process break-downs; develops and implements corrective actions.
11. Creates appropriate ad-hoc reports to ensure system builds are working according to specifications and to ensure accurate payments from insurers.
12. Develops and conducts in-services for Faculty Practice Plan Business Office, other FPP Staff, and system-wide managers and/or staff, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Financial Services or related field, required.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in information systems in a hospital or faculty setting, required.
- Knowledge of front-end registration, reimbursement and computer literacy, required. Knowledge of IDX, Invision/SMS system, required.
- Strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills, required.
