Third Cook/Special Order Cook

The North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Long Island's largest Healthcare employer, currently seeks experienced customer service oriented individual for a Third Cook/Special Order Cook opportunity in our 452 bed tertiary adult care hospital conveniently located in New Hyde Park, New York.

In this PART TIME position with VARIED SHIFT the selected candidate will primarily be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and under guidance from senior staff and/or Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions. High School Diploma required. Graduate of vocational high school (major in foods preparation) preferred. Knowledge and ability to prepare large quantities of foods demonstrated through a minimum of one (1) year experience or two (2) years applicable apprentice training. Excellent working knowledge of cooking and food preparation equipment. Familiarity with seasonings and cooking time preferred.
