Forest Hills Hospital is a proud member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. As a 222-bed community hospital located in an ethnically diverse residential neighborhood in northern Queens, it is our mission to provide the highest quality and most compassionate healthcare in the county, with sensitivity and respect for the cultural needs of our patients and their families.
Franklin Hospital is a 305-bed community hospital that offers a comprehensive array of programs and services to patients from Nassau and Southeastern Queens counties. It has one of the most advanced Emergency Departments in the region and a 21-bed short-term psychiatric unit.
Outstanding scores in patient satisfaction, along with a comprehensive service-excellence program, highlight Glen Cove Hospital—a hospital that provides excellent medical and surgical care. The hospital is home to the internationally known Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Institute, the Family Practice Residency Program, and substance abuse services.
Huntington Hospital, established in 1916, is a 408-bed nonprofit community hospital founded by concerned citizens and shaped by community health-care needs. Huntington, a full-service hospital serving Huntington Township and surrounding communities, has been a member of North Shore-LIJ since 1994.
Lenox Hill Hospital became part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System in May 2010, opening a new and exciting chapter in the hospital’s 153-year history and establishing North Shore-LIJ’s first hospital in Manhattan. Lenox Hill is a 652-bed, fully accredited, acute care hospital with a national reputation for providing the highest quality patient care, medical education, research and community service. Ranked among the nation’s top hospitals in heart and heart surgery, digestive disorders, and neurology and neurosurgery by U.S. News and World Report in its annual “America’s Best Hospitals” survey, the hospital is also recognized nationally as a leader in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, and in maternal/child health.
LIJ Medical Center is comprised of three components: Long Island Jewish Hospital, Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York and The Zucker Hillside Hospital. Long Island Jewish Hospital is a 452-bed tertiary adult care hospital with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, and modern facilities for medical, surgical, dental and obstetrical care. As the Long Island Campus for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, LIJMC's graduate medical education program is one of the largest in New York State, and programs are in divisions headed by full-time faculty.
North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset is a tertiary-care facility that is one of the cornerstones of the health system. It was named the nation's top hospital by AARP's Modern Maturity magazine. The hospital has 812 beds and a staff of approximately 2,700 specialist and subspecialist physicians. It offers the most advanced care in all medical specialties, including open-heart surgery, neurosurgery, urology, and maternal-fetal medicine. The hospital also excels in intensive care for medical, surgical, newborn, and pediatric patients.
Plainview Hospital, proud member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, is an acute care community hospital with 239 beds. The hospital treats patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric and gynecological conditions.
Southside Hospital is a 341-bed tertiary hospital that offers centers of excellence in cardiology, orthopedics, neurosciences as well as women’s health services. Southside also offers quality outpatient care in emergency medicine, radiation oncology, wound healing, pain management and outpatient imaging. A State-designated stroke center and a Level II trauma center, Southside is also well-known for its extensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. Among these are the highly respected Regional Center for Brain Injury Rehabilitation, which provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for persons with brain injuries. Southside offers advanced radiation therapy for outpatients and inpatients in the Frank Gulden Radiation Oncology Center.
The 17-acre north campus (475 Seaview Avenue, Ocean Breeze) features the architecturally beautiful six-story Tower Pavilion; home of the renowned Heart Institute of Staten Island, a joint venture with Richmond University Medical Center. The Heart Institute rivals the best cardiac centers in the nation, and offers advanced cardiothoracic surgeries, including "continuous beating heart" surgery plus sophisticated invasive and non-invasive diagnostics.
The south campus (375 Seguine Avenue, Princes Bay) offers specialty programs that include Geriatric Psychiatry, the hospital's accredited Institute for Sleep Medicine, and a range of behavioral health and substance abuse services. Both campuses have 911-receiving Emergency Departments, and Staten Island's fully-modern new Emergency Department and Education Center is currently under construction at the north site.
Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York is a tertiary (teaching) hospital committed to comprehensive care of children, from infants to young adults. The hospital has 154 beds arranged in separate units on five floors. Each has their own nursing and social work staffs, as well as playrooms.
Syosset Hospital is a full-service community hospital with an inpatient Medical-Surgical unit and Intensive Care unit. In addition, it offers specialized surgical services in a state-of-the-art facility with the most advanced surgical technology available. Our Emergency Department, open 24 hours a day/365 days a year, has received exceptionally high patient-satisfaction ratings in the Press-Ganey Patient Surveys. The hospital features a Center for Surgical Specialties, with highly skilled surgeons, using the latest advancements in equipment and technology. Syosset Hospital is one of the foremost centers in the region for minimally-invasive laparoscopic procedures, as well as laser and other advanced surgical and endoscopic technologies.
The Zucker Hillside Hospital is a 223-bed psychiatric facility known for its pioneering work in diagnosis, treatment and research of mental illness. The National Institute of Mental Health has established a Clinical Research Center for the Study of Schizophrenia at The Zucker Hillside Hospital, one of only four such facilities nationwide. The hospital has a campus-like setting, which offers athletic facilities and a fully accredited grade school and high school. Inpatient services include units for general psychiatry, schizophrenia, affective disorders, geriatrics, children and adolescents.
